Working for many years in social- and community music projects, Han knows how music can open up and connect people. With Raw Resonance, he brings big groups together in interactive music projects. As a trainer for the NGO Sounds Of Change, he empowers refugees and community builders in conflict areas.

Starting to play piano at a young age, music always played an essential role in his life. After high school, and some bouncy years in the hip-hop formation ‘Consequent’, he studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In the following years, he explored the world, while playing as a multi-instrumentalist in the duo ‘Spix Macaw’.

In 2017 Han felt a strong urge to create something of his own, expand his creativity and use his music as a positive message for change: his solo project HAN (Here And Now) was born. Inspired by his travels, an inward journey, and musicians like Xavier Rudd, Paul Simon, and Mike Love, his style evolved.

Together with Gino Bombrini, former producer and musician of Skip & Die, he further developed his music into a worldly mix of different styles, while recording his debut EP 'Here And Now' which was released on the 22nd of May 2020.
On the 1st of October 2021 a 2nd EP ‘Dancing Flame’ was released together with the single ‘Song Of Silence‘‘.

He was also the bass of the improvisation trio Tin Men and the Telephone.

Lucas played in music theatre productions by Orkater and created performances with actor Bram van der Vlugt.

Several years after his study at the conservatory, he felt restricted in his personal growth. He started to look for other ways to use the power of music in the world. He worked with music in refugee camps and marginalised communities in Lebanon, Jordan,, Rwanda, Tanzania, Iraq, Egypt, India, Ukraine, Serbia, Greece, Turkey and the Westbank.

He follows courses in non violent communication, the Art of Hosting, Rock & Water and registered himself with Knowmads, an alternative, creative business school in Amsterdam, that focuses on social entrepreneurship.

“What kind of world do you want to live in and what can you do to enable that world?”

There he learned how to draw the greatest creativity from groups. These creative approaches that can also be used in processes of change in business, teams and schools, were combined with the musical background of Lucas to form the foundations of Sounds of Change.
